  1. I started l/c in March. I weighed about 178 or so.

Now I'm down to about 142.

Given I still look the same to myself in the mirror (I'm not noticing
that I'm shrinking as much as other people have noticed), I haven't
really known what "goal" should be, since I don't buy the Hollywood
    definition of "healthy weight" anyway.

So, I had a physical lately; I ask the doc what she thinks. She says
that I'm fine as long as I don't *gain* weight, and that if I want to
lose more weight, I shouldn't lose more than ten pounds. She also
recommend that it's a good time for me to start focusing on fitness.
[I've lost the weight by diet change alone.]

So apparently I'm now a smidge over, but within the healthy zone.
    Hooray!!

    Dreia
    LC since March
178ish/142/till my doctor says "don't lose any more!".

  3. Good to hear you are sticking with it, with success.

You are probably a better judge of goal than a doctor would be.

Agreed. You are your own best judge.

Congratulations! But that's doing it the hard way - I bet you'll be
impressed by how much difference even a small amount of walking will make
    : )

  7. Actually, I should've said "no exercise beyond what I do in the process
of my daily activities". I walk about two to three miles a day by
necessity (I live a mile from the bus stop, then my school is half a
    mile up a hill).

Congratulations on your WOE. You have changed your life for the better.

You probably won't notice the change in yourself as much as other do. I had
an excellent conversation about this with a friend who went, within the
space of 18 months, from 270 to 130. She agreed that once you become obese,
it's difficult to overcome the perception of being fat. You tend not to see
yourself as someone fit or thin, you see yourself as a fat person losing
    weight.

My friends tell me that I look just fine now. But I still feel fat, or at
least a bit overweight, and want to lose another 15 pounds. That will put
me to my high-school weight. That might be a bit ambitious, but my mind
    tends to work that way.

At any rate, keep up the good work and good health. That's the best thing
you can do for yourself. Even better than marrying rich! LOL!

  9. That's funny, when I got fat I never overcame my perception of being thin.

Well, that's pretty cool! You must be walking the 10,000 steps already.
Weightlifting would be a good complement?

  11. Great idea. I'm a student, I'll look into the weight training class at
    my school.
