  1. I sure hope this gnawing hunger feeling goes away
in a day or so. Dropping to 1500 calories and
exercising more is a [censored]. Calories are divided
up into 70-75% fat, 20-25% protein, balance is
    carbs. I'm damned cranky.

  2. Who told you it would be easy?

Just [censored], that's all. Don't do it often, but
sometimes it has to come out. I feel better already.

Have you noticed that the more you help other
people, the more it strengthens your own resolve?

Hang tight. You'll get used to the calories soon. You might stay cranky,
    though! 🙂

    Where ya been, Roger?

Around....summer travel to meetings, riding, and not posting so much.

  8. Can I ask what made you decide to reduce your calories? Was LC alone not
working for you? What were your calories before? And what are your net
carbs now, not percentages? Just curious...

    Bev,

I was slowly, but steadily losing weight on 1800
cals/day, which was about 10 times my current
weight, but weight didn't change at all for the
past 7 weeks. I decided it was time to lower the
calories and up the aerobics. I was doing
weights, but not much aerobics. I'm still LC and
always will be. Net carbs range from 40-45.

See, I knew you were a [censored].

    Here's your pep talk:

Just remember that hunger is a sign of that fat saying bye bye.

Also remember that changes in scale weight are rarely linear (and
sometimes even changes according to tape measure or caliper are not
either), but if you're brutally honest with yourself in tracking
calories and you stick with it, the weight will eventually come off.
It has to. When you "stall" (and you almost certainly will again)
you'll be tempted to buy into that starvation mode [censored] as an excuse.
    Don't.

One thing I'd encourage you to do is to occasionally measure morning
body temperature immediately upon arising as yet one more way of
    keeping it real with yourself:

    Oh, and butch up 🙂

How much fiber are you getting? :-)

  17. Ok, sounds reasonable I guess. I found that my calories naturally averaged
    about 1400/day while I was doing 30g net carbs/day but I really didn't pay
attention to them. I just know that's what it was because I use FitDay.
I guess it also depends how much weight you have to lose. It took me
almost 6 months to lose 25 pounds but I wasn't overweight to start with.

  18. Oh, and I didn't experience any hunger pangs unless I ate something
high-glycemic like figs. What worked for me was to make sure I ate 5 times
a day. Normal breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus a mid-morning and
-afternoon snack. I also made sure I had dinner at least 2 hours before
going to bed at night. I find that if I go to sleep with food in my
stomach, I wake up with rumblings.

  19. Divide those calories up into numerous tiny tiny meals, and have no large
    meals. It helps.

  20. There is something to that.

My success at avoiding cheating may be supported, in part, by my attacking
    cheating in others.
