I think it's great Nicole's brother qualified! He deserves it.
One thing that really pisses my off about Nicole's tragedy is how Gord
Fraser of HealthNet reacted to it. All I can think about when I think
of Gord Fraser is that he sued the promoter who donated the potential
prize money from that series to set up the foundation in order to
force them to put on another race. That was a greedy, incensitive,
and down-right unethical thing to do on Fraser's part. Shame on him.
Some things are more important than money.
How could HealthNet hire such a guy? I guess winning a few races is
everything. I refuse to support any sponsor who sponsors such a
low-class rider.

Just because a rider dies in a race, does't mean a pro in another race
is obligated to donate their prize money so Nicole's brother and some
Cat. 2's can go to college. Gord Fraser ain't in the sport to give away
his prize money to philanthropy and he has nothing to be ashamed of.
Have you thought about the sacrifice and Mercury invested into the
series that year?
What was greedy about it? The promoters stated it as a promotional
attraction to the series, and then they bailed on that promise. What
was unethical about it? Threshold was in breach of contract.
Don't tell Gord Fraser (or anyone else) how to spend their money, loser.

Gord did not have any money and if he did, it belonged to the entire
team. He showed no respect to Nicole, the promoter, and the sponsors
given the magnitude of the tragedy through his behavior. The other
riders on Mercury that year didn't sue, and you are right, those other
people did invest in that series. It seems that they saw the
magnitude of the tragedy and agreed it was best to allow Threshold to
donate the prize (or at least the women's part) to the foundation.
The promoter did not bail. Some things are more important than money.
Gees, after the money was divided up within the team, and the other
teams/idividuals were paid off, a few grand surely isn't worth
throwing a fit, suing, and making the whole unfortunate situation
worse. What a greedy, unethical, and insensitive man.

He supposedly settled his suit right? Did he split that (if there was
any money involved) with his Mercury team? Or donate it to the
