If there is cheese, like in this dish, you don't need cream. You can just
    add some milk.

Four very happy people, no doubt. Sometimes there are really good
    recipes on here.

You CAN, but it won't be as good, and the milk just doesn't emulsify as
well with the cheese as does half & half. Better to go the other
direction and sub 40% cream for the half & half.

I'm going to try this one:

Golden Blossom Honey Gorganzola and Caramelized Onion Sandwiches

    Carsamelized Onion Relish
    2 tbs olive oil
    2 large onions, thinly sliced
    3 Tbs Golden Blossom Honey
    2 Tbs balsmic vinegar
    3 Tbs golden raisins
    salt and pepper to taste

1 loaf rustic country bread, sliced into 8 (1/2-inch thick) slices
    1 (8 ounce) package Gorganzola

In a large skillet heat oil. Add sliced onions and cook over medium
heat about 20 minutes, stirring often, until onions just begin to turn
golden. Add honey and cook until onions are very soft and deep golden
brown. Stir in vinegar sand raisins. Remove from heat. Season with
salt and pepper. Refrigerate up to three days.

Arrange bread slices on cookie sheet. Top with crumbled cheese. Place
a spoonful of onions on top of cheese. Broil until cheese just begins
    to bubble.

heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool and refrigerate until rready to

The applesauce is a great ingredient... never thought to use it. It will
be in my next BBQ sauce.

Applesauce is one of my regular pantry items, not only is it a very
healthful ingredient it has lots of culinary uses... just this morring
I added a couple heaping tablespoonsful to my steel cut oatmeal... can
hardly eat a fried pork chop without applesauce.
