Let me get this straight, you chose to heckle Greg Lemond in public,

Some of us feel he was right about a lot of the
fat-ass-cry-baby-has-been-[censored] stuff,
especially as it applies to the work of Dr
Ferrarri. Even if some fans do not want to admit
it. He's earned some abuse with the Virtual Tour
Winner stuff. I suspect that's not what you
meant though.

I thought he was right but managed to express it clumsily, in a
way that made it look like sour grapes. But that's neither here
nor there. I am sort of curious why so many care about Lemond's
pudge beyond an occasional joke. The dude is retired - long retired.
Did we expect him to stay 150 lbs forever? It's as if people want him
to give up ice cream for their sins. I think many of those bugged out
that Greg has packed on a few pounds might be of an age to have
worshipped him during his career. His extra padding interrupts
their (our) Masters Fattie attempts to deny reality: we aren't as
slender as we were in 1989, either.

and maturity alone he should be given absolution from eternal

However, next time he's in the presence of one of cyclings all-time
greats, he should just keep his pie-hole closed...and instead pass the
grovelling lard-bucket a mussette full of twinkies.

his inability to graciously step aside when it's another person's turn
to be in the spotlight. Lemond couldn't handle the fact that LANCE
surpassed his achievements as the Greatest Ever American Cyclist. He
behaved like a petulant child.

Merckx, Hinault, Indurain - we didn't see that out of them. It says a
lot about who they are and who Lemond is.

clarification: the above post is in no way meant to suggest that LANCE
surpassed the achievements of Merckx or Hinault (LANCE did not surpass
the totality of their careers, only in TdF victories, although it is
arguable that he surpassed them in soap-opera drama-ness).

emergence of Armstrong from what you read in the "cycling media", it's
hardly appropriate to judge his actions as petulant or less than
gracious. People are often mis-quoted or quoted out of context, with
disasterous results. Fact is, you (or the rest of us, for that matter)
haven't got a clue about how Lemond felt about Armstrong. You only
have your inferrences.

he is running for public office. I would like to see him
say `I am entirely in the wrong by making accusations
