Can anyone recommend a specific brand and/or model to keep my hands warm when biking. I ask because
I've seen a wide range of prices and I don't want to spend more than $50 or so and then be
disappointed. Any suggestions? Thanks, Dave Horne

Try these. It gets cold in Germany. I bought some and they are very warm and comfortable.

It depends on your definition of cold and how far you are riding. I usually switch to fingerless
wool gloves with the optional mitten pullover. They can be found at most sporting goods stores for
under $15.They work well for me in the mid 30's (Fahrenheit) and up. My wintertime rides are usually no longer
than 30 miles and I have pretty decent circulation in my hands and feet.William Higley, Sr. Vision R-50 RANS Rocket "DH" <[email hidden]> wrote in message

REI has some nice OR fleece windblock mittens on sale with nice gripper surfaces. Good choice (and
great value) for very cold weather.Barry

When it's just chilly, I wear some cheap polypropylene glove liners and they're fine.
I just ordered a pair of these 'cuz they looked interesting:

Here's something similar, a little cheaper, without the Gore brand name:

I have bought and recommended a specific pair of gloves to many area cyclists. It is a set of Kombi
gloves and I have been buying them from Canadian Tire at $30 a pair. Here are their general snowboarding gloves
kombisports.com7081 speed g.htmOpen ↗I can't see my specific glove set there but the Speedline3 or Airborne Glove is pretty close. They
also have a lobster claw set that looks good called The Claw. The set I most prefer has a fleece removable liner set as well as an outer layer that is insulated,
waterproof, has a breathable membrane, has reflective material on most of the back of the glove in a
stylish manner, has articulated finger joints, a closable wrist and top wrist cuff. Each of these
layers may be worn separately.I wear the fleece alone for dry and warmish weather, the outer layer for wet or slightly near
freezing temperatures and both together for below freezing. When the weather is extreme, I use the
wrist closures to keep snow and wind out and heat in. It is rates at -20C and I have NEVER been at
all cold in this glove set. It has been several years of daily use and once a week washing machine
cleaning and they show no sign of wear at all.It was the best $30 I have ever spent.

Well, I made the plunge and took out a loan to cover the cost of a new pair of gloves. I wound up
buying a pair of Columbia Titanium. They look heavy enough for use on a motorcycle. They claim to be
waterproof and more important to me, breathable. I paid 55 euros or about $60 ... [censored] amazing,
the price I mean. I guess I don't get out much. Thanks to everyone who responded. Now I just have to wait for really cold weather to arrive. I biked
today in Holland and the temperature was actually quite mild.Later, Dave Horne

I went to Columbia's web site and it seems they give different names to the same model number. I
bought the Steep Side Glove (SM9125). I guess they call the same model by a different name over
here(?). At any rate, for what I paid they better be good. ... later -

My apologies if this post appears twice; I got strange signals the first time around.Anyway... I've tried one helluva lotta gloves since my youth for paper routes, pheasant hunting,
winter camping and canoeing, XC skiing, and, yes, recumbent riding. THE best glove I've ever found
is the wool knit/leather palm glove. They have a wide temperature range, keep my fingers warm even
when they're not working too hard, and just feel good most of the time.FWIW.
