Man, I remember a friend and I riding our Harley-Davidsons to Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on July 24th, 1976 to watch The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Boz Scaggs in concert. According to da intarwebz 37,000 showed up for the show. The Eagles played first, then Fleetwood Mac took the stage. The crowd voiced its displeasure with Fleetwood Mac and screamed and booed through their entire set, trying to get the Eagles back on stage.

That is a heartbreaker. I love the eagles, and always will. RIP Glen!

I was never a fan of The Eagles as a group, or as solo artists.
But I heard an interesting interview with one national journalist here who said that Frey was one of the best interviewees he ever had the pleasure to deal with. Nice compliment.

I liked a lot of their music. Too bad.

Google doesn't waste any time posting that. The Eagles, it was a good band. He was young, 67. Kind of a sketchy description of his death from wikipedia.

Sounds almost like something went amuck with the surgery. Why would they do surgery when he had pneumonia? They removed part of his large intestine. Intestinal cancer removal maybe. They are not saying that exactly. The washington post says he had a long history of intestinal problems. Nov. 15th it was said he was facing "major surgery". In 1990 they already took out a large portion of his intestines.(diverticulitis)
Basically he ate terribly. It's all fun and games until somebody gets an eye poked out.

According to what I've read, Glenn Frey had G.I. issues for many years and suffered from some serious arthritis. The medications he took for the arthritis contributed to his G.I. problems.

Glenn Fry was, again according to just stuff I've read about him, very much into working out and looking after his health. He wasn't the stereotypical rock star drugaholic for his entire career. He aged out of that stuff decades ago and became what many of us are...health nuts or exercise freaks or whatever the latest in vogue term might be.

But, we are all saddled with health issues and injuries. I've got a laundry list of them that's longer than many, shorter than some...including a bowel re-section for a perforated large and small intestine. You can't imagine what going through something like that is like and what the long, long road to recovery from such a surgery entails, I'm guessing. When you are young it is a horrible experience that leaves you weak enough that friends have to hold you up while you try to walk again. Going through it at 67? That could easily prove fatal despite the best healthcare.

And some day...some day those injuries and illnesses and diseases we all suffer through will catch up to us. Just like they did for Glenn Frey.

And the clock stops.

No one gets out of here alive.

When you get to be older, say around 67 years of living on this planet, you just might find out that the cure for what has been ailing you might sure as Hell kill you.

Hmmm. Interesting, and unfortunate. Medication for arthritis. What a shame for him. Arthritis is incredibly simple to fix without medication. Millions fall prey to thinking they need a prescription drug. All the more reason to eat healthier.
Well, yeah the band website actually didn't elaborate too much. I just thought the description seemed sketchy. Many things can be cured by eating real foods. Thanks for digging the information up.
Its funny because I have actually just started to examine how our digestive system works and how important it is to eat right. He got an infection in a pocket where to points meet in the digestive system. This happens when things get stuck. Inflammation starts and continues. Meat, dairy and all of this get jammed up. Not enough fiber to move everything. Its all correctable. His situation and outcome is certainly something to learn from.

And now we add Paul Kantner's name to the list. Jefferson airplane, Jefferson Starship...dead from the effects of a heart attack.

The guy I was shocked to find out who died was Gary Richrath of REO Speedwagon. Died last September. I didn't hear of see a word about it. I looked it up and saw recent pictures and videos. The dude did not look healthy.

There are people dying now that have never died before. Some kind of trend maybe?

Rock stars do lead a hard life. At least many of them start out that way. Some, like Glenn Frey, turn the corner and some don't.

Weird news...original Jefferson Airplane band member Signe Anderson died on the same day Paul Kantner passed away and at the same age as Paul.

I don't know much about the Eagles but I have heard of them especially that they are a good band. RIP Glen Fray I'm sure you'll be missed.

He had to take it to the limit to get that peaceful easy feeling.
