ben there done that :-) I can recommend the Petzl Zipka Plus, very
light weight and small, I leave mine permanently in my rucksack so I
can never forget it. You can get similar torches for a lot less money
from various places on the Internet, however the one I had (which cost
me about £7) didn't have any protection to stop it getting
accidentally turned on in the rucksack, there's no point having a
headtorch if the battery's flat.

It wasn't too bad, it's surprising just how much you can see. It only
started to get a little tricky towards the bottom. If it had been wet or
icy lower down though it could've been unpleasant.

Is that mist or smoke in the valleys? I saw it coming through to Keswick,
but wasn't sure, but it makes for a nice picture. It certainly was a
lovely day, not too many like that at this time of year!

Hi Graham, what type of camera do you use? very good quality. I have a
digital 3.1 megapixel but the quality seems poor.

Fantastic photos , loved the shots of the clouds creeping over Styhead & the
sunset . It must have been a bit dodgy coming down from Glaramara in the
dark , the steep descent is tricky in broad daylight so it must have been
tough in the fading light . I was on Skiddaw the same day myself enjoying
wall to wall sunshine , I've posted some photos from my walk too if you're
