Tomorrow my buddy Bob goes into surgery to fix up a broken collar and
shoulder bone. It was bad enough that the docs here recommended him to a
specialists in Denver.
The crash occurred on Saturday as we were finishing a great local loop,
up Jones, across Pinkerton-Flagstaff, down Dutch and out Hermosa. The
kind of crash we have all had, on a pretty easy section, "smelling the
barn", and boom, before anyone knows it he is broken. If you know this
ride, you know making it down Dutch without incident for anyone is not
trivial, and we had no problems there.
Bob completed his 9th Leadville 100 just a week (or was it 2) before, in
his personal best time. He is no slouch as a rider.
So send out good vibes for a fellow rider, please.
Thanks!
