Crit Championship for 1/2/Pro men and 1/2/3 women and is generally the
last big event on the Nor cal road schedule.

I'll be interested to know how much coverage is actually given to next
sunday. It's a biggie, and should get good coverage like East coast premiere
events. It would be nice to get a video of that. Good action on the climbs!

Well The Giro has almost every category fill up and gets in the 500-600
range of entrants. Mt. Tam is normally around the 300 rider mark. I
hear a lot more riders who basically hang up the bike after the Giro vs
rider who hang up the bike fo rthe season after Mt. Tam.

I didn't stay for the finish of the 1,2,pro race but Dave Fuentes was
active early and was second overall in the California Cup standings
before this last event in that series. The announcer mentioned that he
had won about 4 NorCal races since July including lapping the field
solo at Suisun (1/2 mile course).

blurry eyed at the finish. It was the hardest Giro I remember. I didn't
stay to see the official results.

Local TV crews were at the race yesterday.
I cannot tell if they caught our race (Mastes 1/2/3) or the Pro/1/2
race since they showed only 20-30 seconds of racing on local news
yesterday, I saw when I got home.

Anyone else confirm which?

It was harder for a coyuple reasons:

- the course
- the weather

The added extra couple of blocks made this a six-turn crit versus the
four-turn rectangle of old. Also in that turn two you had to scrub a
little speed on the bumps and RR tracks there and instead of being
"sucked up" that little climb (as in the past) you had to do more of
your own work up it.

The weather was super hot. Horrible! Fun though no matter how you
score it.

The course suits him well-he's strong on the upgrades. In the 35's
race The Morgan-Stanley guys essentially lead Larry out to the last
corner with his teammate Scott McKinley on his wheel, but Scott didn't
(try to?) come around him and took 2nd place.

"Left-right" is a distraction away from the more important "up-down" concern.
