  1. Just got a Giant XTC1 2005. Brill bike. Want to know what bits need
    upgrading and what they should be upgraded to. Want to get it as light as
    poss. Really appreciate your thoughts.

    It'sa well known fact that the frame makes the bike. You can't take a
    huffy frame and make it a Titus with XTR componentry. The answer is
    simple, the frame needs upgrading first.

    huffy frame and make it a Titus with XTR componentry. The answer is
    simple, the frame needs upgrading first.

    Actually the XTC frame is probably one of the lightest out there. I'd
    start with wheels, handlebar/seatpost/stem and crankset. Which is, of
    course, a lot. But hey. 🙂

    Thanks for the assist. Lighter frames from the cookie cutter
    dispensers are much more prone to failure than their heavier brethren.
