I don't own one, but I test rode one recently and found it very sloppy in corners. I didn't have any confidence whilst cornering.

This is a very subjective thing, and the OCR's are definitely good value this year. I would test ride a Trek 1000 as a comparison, or maybe one of the Felt bikes.

ps. as a guide, I was looking at an OCR Zero at TFM in Port Melbourne and they offered me $1800 for it. Retail is something like $2400.

I bought an '05 OCR2 last September for $1200 (RRP$1449). This is my first roadbike since my 10 speed racer I had as a teenager, and I think it's ok. I'll be looking for something else in the next 12 months though. It's fairly fast for what it is, and I can keep up with others I cycle with on more expensive bikes (the bike is only part of the equation though 😉). When I climb hard the bike makes lots of noise, which I have been told could be the frame flexing. People I know who have been into cycling longer than I have, said I should have bought an OCR 1 or OCR 0, but $$$ were a large factor for me as I try lots of different things, and seldom stick with them - luckily, cycling is proving to be a lasting interest for a change!

I haven't ridden that one, it's a flat bar bike right? The OCR 2 is a road bike.

I'm not really up to date with flat bars and tourers, sorry.

I got a 2004 OCR 2. Got it for $1400 with $200 worth of accesserys from the shop.
Yes the wheelset (Xero Xrs-4) you get with it isn't very good (Way to much flex) but the frame is nice and stiff. As for Tiagra.....well its good if you dont race, other wise it clunks around under stress (sprinting in particular) and its heavy (The Cranks weigh next to a kilo) . I upgraded the pedals to Keos too.
My conclusion is its great if your a rec rider but i'd reccommend a OCR 1 or 0 if your racing (or possibly a Learsport Lear 8000 (105) or Lear 8500 (ultegra) for around the same price).
Cycleworks in whithorse road, Boxhill (Look them up in the yellow pages) is where i got it from. They have good deals and some nice Bianchi s if your into italian bikes.
