I put this in the Bloody Soapbox because it might turn into a flame war, even though the purpose of this thread is totally not about that. We all know that our beloved cheif in staff can't balance too well on one (sorry I had to), but does anybody know if he's ever helped to make/change bicycle laws or what his opinions are on the subject in general?

He mountain bikes so the terrain is more difficult than the road. Who knows. I don't particularly care. He rides a bike, so I have no problems with that!! I'm not attacking your post at all FYI.
Least he out there being active, unlike a lot of people in the U.S.
Now, focusing on your post. I doubt that the President deals with bicycle laws. It's more of an in-state thing. But, I could have missed something.

yea, you spell it the Irish way...but its Scotch i drink...therefore if i was in some kind of stupor, it would be a Scotch induced one..besides, yank whiskey isnt worth the water it is 'distilled' with...foul stuff.

Sorry to [censored] in your haggis but whiskey came from Ireland. Sure, the Scots perfected it but they need to buy a vowel. Only the Slavic languages are allowed to drop vowels... -

this is true, and there is actually a practical reason as to why whisky was to be so popular in Scotland, the same reason Vodka is popular in Russia and Finland etc...these drinks are centuires old....why are they still here?

(I know Vodka is popular in Russia cause it helps to life the mood when the weathers bad - or at least that's their excuse).
Whiskies are centuries old and the best whiskies can last practically forever.

Moonshine has evolved from a "for profit business" into an art form here, and if you have the testicles to partake of the "good stuff " It can be a spiritual experience.

keeps out the cold winter chill when all you have is a sporran and kilt to keep you warm...Lim you should try a sip of Bushmills Malt...its one of the nicest tasting drinks on the planet...very warm and mellow.

Yep, I believe Bushmills has a great reputation amongst whisky drinkers.
I'm afraid I just never go used to the taste of whisky when I tried.As you say a nice warm malt keeps the cold out though - walking around in a Kilt in mid-winter can't be recommended.
I see all the Scots over for the rugby in deepest winter wandering around in kilts
