Generating ride profiles?

Hi,

You can try Motionbased. The Free membership allows you to create up to
certain amounts of profiles. Here is an example of one of my short
runs:

Also, Geoladders, allows you to create routes, upload your times, add
pictures to your routes, compare your time against other cyclists, etc.

Try this: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ It has an elevation tracking
option.

Try bikely.com. You can join for free and share your routes
with others, or not, as you choose. Here's one of my routes there:

Click on "Start Tour," zoom in, click the arrows for forward and back,
and notice how it's possible to add notes to points of interest. Click
on "elevation" for a graph. Members can also comment on routes through
the link to the message board. You can also download a GPX file of a
route as a backup. It's also possible, with 3rd party freeware and
some tweaking, to convert Microsoft Streets and Trips measuring paths
to GPX and then import them to Bikely, but that's complicated.

Bikely is really friendly, and it's always improving since you
can leave development suggestions for Jules, the administrator, who
will actually listen and reply. Check it out.

... and then you can open the GPX file in Google Earth, so long as you have the latest version. 🙂

http://www.routeslip.com works on top of Google maps and calculates an
elevation chart.
