Aye, had one a few months now.

Lovely gps, can store up to 20 routes to follow, can store 10 saved tracks
you've walked.

Used mine loads in the few months I've had it, easy to use, great for
uploading tracks to memory map on my pc to see where I've been when I get
home.

I have the 301 - essentially the same device. Works for me. I use
Anquet to upload routes and store tracks. I use it for Geocaching too.
I went for the Geko as it was the smallest/lightest and seemed to have
all the functions I needed. Battery life hasn't been a problem for me -
I use 900 maH NIMH rechargeables and expect to get a fully day (or
more) from a set.

The only issue I has was random switching-off when mounted to my MTB.
This was solved by inserting a small piece of foam in the battery
compartment.

It's worth considering the 301 for the compass function. I've been in
situations where wandering off in a random direction for a few metres
just to get a bearing would be hazardous to ones health.

What sort of enviroment was that?

How good is the compass on the 301? I carry a regular compass, but having
both in one device could be useful.

The 201 is very simple to use, My mate has a v. expensive Silva and the
201 is just as (if not more) acurate, it is much easier to use and less
than half the size (and price). I would def. recommend it.

Yep! Fantastic product for the price.

Worked without fault both here and in Switzerland.

Interoperates with MemoryMap seamlessly.

Be lost(!) (!) without it.....................................

I bought a 301 last year and it was fantastic in Scotland, the Pyrennes
and Long Island. Very straightforward to use. Only problem with hand
held GPS is when you are in trees or under an overhang; it can give up
on you so don't let go of your natural sense of direction!

White out, gale, mix of ice and rock underfoot on the top of Sgurr Mor
(near Glendessary). If you ever read the Trail article about canoeing
into Knoydart when they got roundly beaten by the weather, it was that
day. Only we were 3,000ft higher up!!!

I'd never leave my REAL compass at home tho!
