Garmin Forerunner died!

There should be a reset procedure for this unit. Try to press various
buttons together with the PowerOn button (PowerOn always second).

I remember someone else having a similar problem and the problem was
solved by pressing certain button combinations and re-setting the
device.

This just happened to my 201 as well. In fact, I just got my replacement
unit from Garmin and shipped the bad one back.

When I called Garmin about the dead 201 they told me there was no button
combination to push since there was no power in the unit (hence the
blank screen).

They also said they had NEVER heard of such a thing happening before!

BTW, the new 201 I just got is my FIFTH since I first bought a Garmin
about six months ago. The customer service people are nice, but I'm
worried about the quality control of these things and what will happen
when my warranty runs out.

Don't understand that statement. The GEKO and some other Garmins goe
dead from time to time, but I was always able to revitalize it with a
MasterReset procedure.

I've had my Garmin 201 since Christmas '03. Used it here in Georgia,
Las Vegas, and Miami. Never had any problems.
