Gal solo RAAM collapses....

Started with 5 women in the women's solo RAAM, and now only 1 left. 1 quit
from exhaustion, the other 3 DQ'd for not meeting the time requirements
(going too slow). Kerry White is the only one left, but she's barely going
fast enough to not get DQ'd herself. Her average speed is 9.94 mph, I think
she has to get that over 10 mph. So she either has to ride faster, or not
sleep. Hell of a note, no one left behind you, but you must continue your
sleep deprivation or be axed yourself. It looked like a good group of women
at the start, ironman types, but they really couldn't ride very fast.
Usually there is one, that is ahead of maybe 5 of the men, a really strong
rider. Their profiles showed they were more triatheletes than pure road
riders, maybe that was the problem. They saw Shanna the banana, last year,
and thought well if she can do it so can we. But this year is showing that
Shanna was a very strong rider, and they aren't. I doubt if Kerry White
will make it, but she knows if she can stay under the time limit she wins,
so that will motivate her. But motivation is no substitute for riding
strength, but we'll see, maybe I'm wrong.
