Hmmm, I thought they were hockey players.

  3. Most hoodia on the market is fake (as most anything online).
A 60 Minutes piece last year said they have figured out how
to cultivate this rare south african desert plant.
Others tests show it to be an effective appetite suppressant.

  5. This ad I'm looking at says they have free samples at Gakic.com

    Here are some of the directions for using it, from the Gakic site;

DIRECTIONS: Due to the potent nature of this product, which works
immediately, GAKIC should only be used on days that you work out and at
    no other time.

    Oooooo scary...lol

GAKIC is trying to become the new creatine. : ) Guess I'll at least
    have to try it....

Like the ads for diet pills that warn: "Bullshitabol is SO powerful, it is
only for people at least 75 pounds overweight. No one else should use it."

I liked the comments from this site which tells you more about the
    ingredient with less hype:
    http://www.bodyconcept.com/family/1561/display.html
    "Gakic is chemically known as
    Glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic-acid calcium.
Glycine is the simplest amino acid; its side chain consists of just a
single hydrogen atom. This amino acid is abundant in the body and is
not considered essential. Supplementation with glycine, however, has
been shown to support healthy kidney and liver function as well as
    nervous system health.
The amino acid arginine has several roles in the body, such as
assisting in wound healing, helping remove excess ammonia from the
body, stimulating immune function, and promoting secretion of several
hormones, including glucagon, insulin, and growth hormone.
Alpha-ketoisocaproic acid (K.I.C.) is taken as a supplement for its
anti catabolic properties. Alpha-ketoisocaproic acid (K.I.C.) can be
used with HMB and other anti-catabolic supplements to enhance muscle
performance and recovery. K.I.C. helps the Protein conversion and
absorption process, Alpha-ketoisocaproic acid prevents muscle breakdown
and increases strength, power and nitrogen retention.
Calcium is the most abundant, essential mineral in the human body. Of
the two to three pounds of calcium contained in the average body, 99%
is located in the bones and teeth. Calcium is needed to form bones and
teeth and is also required for blood clotting, transmission of signals
in nerve cells, and muscle contraction. The importance of calcium for
preventing osteoporosis is probably its most well-known role. "

So could be worth a try, but nothing incredibly new.

And as for Hoodia .. "a British biotechnology company, Phytopharm, and
the pharmaceuticals giant Pfizer acquired the rights to its development
and commercialisation as an anti-obesity drug for use in the West"
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/2883087.stm
So anything else not made by the above companies is a rip off and not
specific type of hoodia that is the real deal.

    The claims are pretty outrageous.
I'm dubious as, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Supplements are too expensive for me to waste any money so I'll let you
be the guinea pig. ;-) Be sure to report!

  14. Most hoodia is probably fake.
A recent 60 Minutes piece said it was rare, hard to
    cultivate south african plant.
Tests showed it to be a good appetite suppressant.

If all it is is an appetite supressant,
    I don't need that.......

    Thanks!

"New to bodybuilders, athletes, and sports enthusiasts, GAKIC, also
known as glycine-l-arginine-alpha-ketoisocaproic acid has been in
    development for 8 years. That's 8 years"

just to learn to spell it.
