Fuji Tourers?

So why not try this Fuji? Felt quite good but needed a slightly

steel framed, STIs, saddle felt ok so it's definitely a possibility.

I've never heard of these guys before though. Does anyone own/has
owned/generally got an opinion on them?

The Fuji Track is very popular as it's a real track bike for £300 (mine
cost £250!).

Nice tubing specification, neatly welded, seat tube perfectly reamed,
nice paint finish, terribly cheap componentry but that reflects its
price and won't apply to the tourer (you can see what you're getting).

Three small caveats: the sprocket on mine had been fitted with
threadlock which made it interesting to remove even though I did so
before I'd ever ridden it. Most people use grease! Also, the BB had
been fitted without grease which meant the LBS had to be employed to get
it out despite rarely ever riding in the rain. I would ask the shop to
remove and refit the BB before sale to be on the safe side. Finally,
the rear triangle alignment is not perfect on mine and a properly dished
wheel cannot quite be centred at both the chainstays and the seatstays -
I'm talking 2-3mm here. It's currently at Bob Jackson in Leeds where
large Yorkshiremen with big levers are sorting it out (along with adding
some bottle bosses and respraying it).

They are supposed to be good bikes... but I've never owned one, so can't
give a personal opinion. Looked good at Cycleshow in Docklands.

My LBS had some in last year when I was looking for a bike for one of the
offspring. It looked *very* good value and the one tried rode very well.
I can't remember the model's name but it was a standard drop-bar touring
machine with reasonable equipment.
The colour style was a little 'traditional' if you know what I mean,
which may or may not be a selling point.

In the end the offspring decided he would make do until this Spring
rather than get a new bike just before the Winter.

ISTR Fuji track bikes have also had good reviews.
