Dunno. we feed em (ravens, wattlebirds, rainbow lorikeets and the occasional cockatoo too!) off our back deck. The ravens in particular get very tame and pushy for you to feed em. the kids hand feed em too

Nah....I reckon the poor maggies getting are getting rather frustrated due
to the sophistication of the fast modern multigeared bicycle and the fact
we've made it harder for them by wearing helmets that they are getting more
aggressive by trying to make an impact on our heads.

30 yrs ago, people used to shoot the blighters with slug guns, but now that
it's highly illegal and the fact that councils can't really do much other
than cut down their tree (they'll just go to the next one) the population of
magpies have somewhat exploded.

get it walking too. i find holding a hand above your head makes them baulk a bit. Last summer i walked into the middle of a 3-magpies-versus-one-dieing-minah and they turned on me. scary stuff. they flew at me rather than above and i ended up having to fend one off with my crumpler.

Our best bird is our neighbourhood's resident tawny frogmouth. nothing like having part of a tree open its mouth and hiss at you to reveal a bright orange innards. spooky!!!

Don't have a prob with magpies, they tend to steer clear of me for good reason. I'd eat them. mmmm, crunchy crunchy beaks n' feet....
