This has to be one of the most stupid statements ever made.
Naturally, Atkins came in as one of the worst diets. Another quote:
But, like many others, Fike-Carlson couldn’t stick with the restrictive
eating plan [of Atkins]. “I couldn’t keep it up,†she says. “I wanted
chips with my Mexican food. I wanted french fries and bread."
This, after the woman lost 37 pounds.
So, on the one hand, they tell you not to choose a diet that's too
"restrictive", yet on the other hand, they tell you to choose a monotonous
diet because variety "stimulates appetite". Seems a bit confusing.
