Do you mean that "Herman" coffeecake recipe? (I've never seen a recipe
for it WITH fruit, but there is something called "friendship fruit"
which is altogether different.)gloria p

Never saw a cake with fruit in it. I have an Amish Cinnamon Friendship Bread,
but it needs a starter....so I don't know how much if any use this is with out
the starter, and I have no idea how to make the starter. This what done some
place I worked amongst my "foodie peeps."Any one got a hint on how to make the starter? Possible to freeze the starter
for later batches? ? ?AMISH CINNAMON BREAD
NEVER USE METAL BOWLS OR SPOONSDay 1) Receive Fermented batter in a gallon zip lock bag.
Do nothing else except to place the bag on your kitchen counterDay 2) Squeeze Bag
Day 3) Squeeze Bag
Day 4) Squeeze Bag

Day 6) Add 1 cup self rising flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk
Day 7) Squeeze Bag
Day 8) Squeeze Bag
Day 9) Squeeze Bag
Day 10) In a large plastic bowl, empty batter from bag. Add 1 Cup sugar and 1
Cup milk. In four separate gallon size zip lock bags, pour 1/3 cup
batter
in each. Label and Date with Day 1. Give 3 to friends and keep one
for
yourself. (Or give them all away and see how long it takes to come
back.)Preheat oven to 350 degrees and add to remaining batter
½ cup milk
2 cups self rising flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 eggs
1 large box vanilla instant pudding
1 cup cooking oilIn separate bowl, mix 1 tsp. Cinnamon and 3 tsp. Sugar. Grease 2 loaf
pans well and coat with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Pour into pans and bake
about 1 hour. You can add optional items such as: Chocolate chips,
Butterscotch or peanut butter pieces, toffee, nuts, raisins, etc..If air gets in the bag just let it out. It is normal for the batter to
bubble or
ferment, especially after it has been "fed" on the 6th day.
