Yeah...and it better be good...

well, uhh, fred .. on a positive note the term is often
applied to someone who kicks your ass on a club ride wearing
knee high socks on a bike with a rack, fenders and 36 hole
wheels. it doesn't have to mean an out & out loser, tho
there's definitely been definition drift in that direction.

Right on target! And you conjur up an image off a guy in our
area. He once did the legendary Assault on Mt. Mitchel on a
40 lb. 3-speed "beach" type bike with big chrome fenders. He
wears knee socks, shorts that are about 15 years old, a t-
shirt, an old styrofoam helmet, and he can kick anyone's ass
around on any climb around.

But regarding Freds ... I think the spelling has even
drifted. Technically, shouldn't it be Phreds?

A Fred may have a different percentage of 14Carbon in
his fibers.

Right. I use grain fiber myself, usually in the form of
shredded wheat or oatmeal. Keeps things nice and regular. I
don't know how I'd eat that carbon fiber stuff, but if Fab
or others want to, they can go right ahead.
