Anyone here also members or visit "bikeforums.NET"? SWEET JEBUS those guys are freaking A-HOLES!!!! half the people there are on there just to create drama by replying with things like..."who F'ing cares, some people just shouldnt reproduce, what a stupid question!, what ar eyou some kind of rookie!?"
Isn't that what a forum is all about, to ask questions and gain knowledge from others who know? This just wasnt with me, but with tons of other threads as well.I really appreciate the "brotherhood" that is within this forum. not to often will someone look down on another for asking a question, because that's how you learn when you are starting out.
Any-Hooo just had to get that off my chest.
Cheers to everyone at cyclingforums.com and thanks for making this an open and welcome place to learn!
Dude, I just demanded my account cancelled with them last night, but not before telling their admin what I thought of their site.
They're a bunch of troll losers over on that forum. I got banned for a week for telling a guy, "Dude, you should just do yourself a favor and kill yourself" for starting on "wife jokes." Think he was suspended? Nah...
Ironically, I've been to a few LBS within the past week and the subject of internet forums has come up a few times. Funny that every one of the guys I talked to said, "Yeah, they're all pretty good, but don't bother with bikeforums.net. You won't learn much..."

Maybe the road subforum's like that but it seems like a lot of people on that forum will take the time to work with a newb or answer my questions.
They also have a classic & vintage subforum.
It's also simply larger than this forum and your questions get answered sooner.

You're quickly establishing your reputation here on this site as being one of the all-time biggest hyprocrites known to netdom with a statement such as this...

On another forum I used to participate in (not involving cycling) one of the most quoted sayings was 'the only stupid question is the one you don't ask'. Another that could be used is 'the only stupid people on a forum are the ones who know EVERYTHING (but won't help you)'.
This is the only cycling forum I have joined. I have asked a few questions, read quite a lot of previous questions and found that most (if not all) members are willing to help if they can.

You'll quickly find it isn't much different here...
