Frameset Value

But, at that price point, I would probably be looking at other frames unless you had been planning on buying that specific frame a year ago because the notion of a CF MTB frame for a non-sponsored rider seems like unnecessary conspicuous consumption unless you are only riding the bike around town!?!

To state the obvious, if you take into account how much you will need to pony up for the component group + fork + wheels, were you planning on putting more than $5000 into your next MTB?

If you are just moving the components from your current MTB to the GIANT, is it worth ~$2800 to shave about a pound off the rolling weight?

BTW. I think there are FOUR basic linkage designs for the rear suspension on MTBs -- I can't rate the different designs ... but, you should probably try to investigate the pluses-and-minuses which each design has ... there are differences.

FWIW. My impression is that the improvement of rear shock technology has made up for deficiencies in some of the designs.

Having a hard time with the idea of the Anthem frame being $3600 -- the WHOLE BIKE, maybe, but not just the frame. The new Intense Tracer, twice the frame of the Anthem, goes for about $2200, and Intense isn't a 'bargain' framemaker by any means!

Frame-only(or frame/shock, if you prefer to term it), I could see the Anthem at about $1700-1900; so, even never-built, a good price would be $1300-1500.
