The Air stik was ok, but I never managed to get my tires to 100psi, let
alone the claimed 160psi maximum. Pumping with the Blackburn became a bit of
a struggle after about 80psi.

The Topeak, on the other hand, is amazing. It goes to 110psi without much
effort at all, so you could easily go higher if that's your thing! It's also
a very light pump, around 100g.

Of course, these pumps are basically used to get you home after a flat or
puncture, so you shouldn't expect (nor do you get) floor pump performance.

Most people recommend a full-sized frame pump, but honestly, I've managed
fine, and have been very satisfied with a Blackburn AirStick AS-1 on my
bike, which I've used for years now. About 80psi in a tire should be plenty
to get you home, and the Airstick is less cumbersome on the bike.

Blackburn FP-1. I put 140 psi in a tubular once. Unfortuntaely I've
used my pump quite often in the past few weeks. I have the old style.
Hopefully the new style is as good.

The zefal HPX works like a good floor pump. They would last forever,
except there are two ways to lose a zefal HPX pump. One way is, it
falls off your frame and gets runover by a truck. Another is, the
pump head parts get loose and fall out so when you come to stop there
is no pump head (not even a thumblock) any more. don't laugh, both
have happened to me ...

I have the RoadMorph, couldn't be happier. Pumps 120psi easily, and
works well on mountain bike tires also. Built-in gage! Can be had for
$29 online.

Hmmm... I'm shocked to see that Loose Screws
(http://www.thethirdhand.com) doesn't list them. Maybe I was wrong
about parts availability, but I thought I'd seen them around. Anybody?

Thanks. That should do it for the HPX. Looks like I might still be
going overseas for the Competition(s) though. I'll have to email Andy
and check.
