  1. I found a digital camera by the side of the road near Estes Park, CO, and
would be glad to return it to its owner if I can find him!

The pictures in the camera start in Missoula, Montana on 8/25/07, and show a
group of 6 men camping and cycling through down through Montana, Idaho,
Wyoming (including Yellowstone), pulling into Estes Park on 9/11. One of the
early pictures showed the front of the Adventure Cycling in Missoula (I've
    contacted them already).

I uploaded one of the pictures that shows all the guys here ...
    http://www.sc3.net/bike.jpg

    Anybody recognize them?

    Thanks,
    Chris

I found a Donegal Tweed cap from Shandon Headwear on the roadside last week
on Hot Springs Road. In spite of the fact that the cap is exactly my size
and perfectly matches my tweed sport jacket, I will gladly return it to the
owner who can provide essential information (color, pattern, size, etc).

    Does this sound like you?

I suggest you contact Adventure Cycling and tell them the details, maybe
also even upload the pics to them, and they should be able to locate the
    owner.

    OOPS, ME BAD !!!

I missed it on my original read that you already contacted them. SORRY, too
    early-no caffeine yet.

Were they not able to help? I would think they could put the dates on your
find and the pics with their records and figure it out real quick.

Anyway, sorry again for the dufus response.

  8. No worries!

The guy I spoke to ad Adventure Biking said his best guess is that the guys
stopped by the Adventure Bike HQ on the Saturday they left, found the place
closed, took a picture, and kept going. So there's no record there of
anybody setting off on this adventure.

They're going to put a notice in their Nov/Dec newsletter, and I've sent a
letter to the editor of the newspaper in Missoula.

Just wondering... if you sent the serial and model number to the camera
company,, they could check its warranty registation and contact the owner?

  16. Well, you learn something new every day.

The lady at Casio said that it's illegal for them to store the warranty
registration information that you send in. So they type it into their
computers, it gets sent over to Japan for some unknown reason, and then 5
days later they delete all those records.

    Go figure!

Reminds me of when I worked for a government facility for a while ... we
filled out all forms in triplicate, and I was told the reason was "one for
me, one for the central office, and one we shred so the Russians don't get
it." Yes, that was a few years ago (grin).

This is really a reach, but the one guy with the beard appears to resemble
Sheldon Brown, a prominent contributor on these forums. However, Sheldon is
in poor health the last I heard so I don't know if that would be him or
    not???

You might try to Google his website for contact info and see.

Like I said it is a stretch, but you never know .....
