I have noticed that quite a few of you here have set up some fantastic galleries on Fotopic, which seems to be much more versatile and customisable than the one I've been using (Photobox) - is Fotopic generally seen as the best online photo-storage/gallery site? I do know that Photobox's prints come out very well though, don't know what fotopics are like.
For the record, here are a few pics of mine from Northern Scotland a few of you may like:

I've never asked Fotopic for any of their gift products or for any prints; also I've not used any other on-line gallery service. That said, I've found them very helpful. Fotopic is run by a couple of what seem like very likeable chaps and their staff; uploading to the site is easy (there are a few different ways of doing it); making changes to galleries or collections is straightforward. I've not had any problems with them at all other than when I changed my email address recently it took a while before I could sign in with my new one. That however resolved itself, and all I do before uploading files or even complete folders of files is to reduce the filesize by about two thirds to make things easier for people on dial-up etc.

What a beautifully atmospheric collection - thanks :-) -- "Some witty person in rec.arts.sf.composition (I forget who) called them feral apostrophes. Untamed, unregulated, they roam the wastes of the English language and pop up where lea'st expected."

the recent posts stimulated my interest too as I do not have, and have no real interest in making or maintaining a web page as such, however I do have some pics that I could have shared but never got round to. So I had a go last night and the results can be seen at http://graham-ingram.fotopic.net
It only took about an hour to set that lot up so I may get carried away and add more recent and future pics as I go.
well worth the small effort required
Cheers and thanks to all who guided me in that direction.

Fabulous! I feel the need of a trip northwards coming on - if only it weren't for those dratted midges. -- "Some witty person in rec.arts.sf.composition (I forget who) called them feral apostrophes. It's not all about height, tents, trekkin' poles, GPS, crampons, croutons etc.... !
Indeed it isn't. Wonderful. -- "Some witty person in rec.arts.sf.composition (I forget who) called them feral apostrophes. Untamed, unregulated, they roam the wastes of the English language and pop up where lea'st expected."
