This is not a binaries newsgroup. Please don't post binaries here.

Thank you for hastening the day when this newsgroup is dropped.

He didn't post a binary, he posted a link to a web page. It's your
choice whether you follow it or not.

Your post is two and a half times the size of the one you're complaining
    about.

Actually, if you are reading this thread in a newsreader
and not on cyclingforums.com, you'll see Jock did post
    a binary...

That's one of the problems with the cyclingforums.com.

Gnus is a news reader. Maybe TPG, my ISP, strips binaries in non-binary
    groups?

    I've never been to cyclingforums.com.

Fortunately, many ISPs do just that. It helps protect us against some of
the worst excesses of the world's many morons.

  12. Richard,
I was going to post the file to a binaries newsgroup, I could fine none that
would not contain the relevant parameters for cycling or that all the
various ISP's represented here would have available.
I did not cross post to the original several groups, I warned of the file
attachment in the following post and I also got the file to a fairly small
size by comparison. I reckon I would prefer to d/l ~150kB I was warned
about than clicking on a farking URL (which falsely states it's a .jpg), in
a post with no warning that about 3MB of data was about to be downloaded
because some lamer does not understand the physics of compression.
Set your newsreader up to show post sizes if that may help.
I really fail to see the point of your complaint. How many people were able
to see the compressed file I posted and saved half their night / day
downloading the original larger file ex the URL??
A favour? Not by the crying I have seen here.
    /end rant.

Oh, great. A moron trying to justify posting a binary to a non-binary group
who also top-posts. If you've got an image to share put it on your web
site. Bigpond gives you that megabyte allowance for free. Use it.

  18. What am I doing wrong? you are using OE newsreader, you are changing the way
OE wants you to post, indeed, you are the one scrolling down to put your
text out of the way of the people using OE so that they have to scroll down
and read the trite comments you post.

I'm the one showing everybody else the courtesy and forethought of never
putting the answer before the question. Microsoft's bad design is not a

  20. Just because I top post, you get all excited.
Am I the first and only person who top posts?
You better get your sewing finished soon and get busy trawling usenet being
the netcop and tell every other person in the world who is not as anally
retentive as yourself to do as you say, or, or, or you will hold your breath
    till you explode!!
This may be of use, you seem to need one: http://www.grip-it.com/
