  1. Planning to spend a week in Normandy in September using Formule1
cheapo hotels. I have used them before but never had my bike with me.
Will they let you take your bike up to the room? Anybody had
experience of this situation? Been in quite a few in France but never
noticed anything resembling a lockable outbuilding and no way would I
leave it outside chained or not.

    Cheers

    You could try asking them.

  3. you can take your bike into your room -- in fact I would never leave it
    outside -- even if locked

Stayed in one in Caen as there is no longer any tent camping. There is
no-one there most of the time, so you can do what you like. Certainly, yes,
take your bike in with you.

I've done so several times - always a clean bike though.

used them a couple of years ago; first one at Avranches was not in the
usual industrial estate cum retail park so just hid the bike behind a
pallet; in Le Havre they flatly refused to let it in the room and
insisted I leave it by the CCTV; except he couldn't see it on his
monitor so it went in the room.
