Hi all
Gonzales made a brave attempt to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats. Sadly, he failed as he only
made it to southern Scotland. Failed? Not in my book. It seems that G bonked out due to either lack
of nutrition or exposure. No matter, the boy done well <ahem>.
Post ride stuffing and food to eat while riding have often been mentioned here, as has what makes
for a regular diet. However, I'm curious and need to know what makes for a good pre-ride meal. I use
the word "meal" loosely.
Quite recently, I have started riding longer distances, something I haven't done for quite some
time. Assuming my normal diet is reasonably balanced - and it is - is there anything, or, rather,
any particular type of food stuff I should stoke up with before an extended ride?
FWIW, my anti-Atkins diet has de-bulked my body be 0.5 stones in the last fortnight. And it's
not just the weight that's dropped off; I don't care about the weight too much. I'm also losing
the inches.
And before Guy comments, I've checked for lost shampoo bottle tops lodged underneath my
bathroom scales.
