Fluid Trainers

There are a lot of good threads on this topic. You may want to do a search and read some of the good recommendations there. Just do a search on "trainer" or "fluid trainer" or "cycleops" and you should get quite a few hits. The fluid 2 is a popular trainer.

There probably isn't much opinion on the Minaura if it's really new because nobody has had a long enough chance to evaluate them. Most do people seem happy with whatever it is they purchased.

I'm happy with my Kinetic Road Machine, and you might want to add it to the list of fluid trainers to consider. Check the threads for pros/cons, as Dr. M mentions.

I second the Kurt Kinetic recommendation. Do a search on leaking fluid trainers, and you will find many that do. The Kurt Kinetic will NEVER leak because is uses a magnetic coupling, and does not rely on seals that eventually fail to prevent leakage.

I have the Fluid 2 and have put countless hours into it. Still works like day one with a couple of grooves worn into the metal surface. Very quiet and has good pedal feel.

I bought a cheap one from Performance. It feels like I can't get enough resistance and they also just recently had a recall as the mechanism holding the bike wheel in would fail the the rider would fall over. Definitly stay away from performance. I returned mine and will be wating until next year to get a new trainer.

I'll third the Kurt Kinetic recommendation. I trained with it through the winter and I couldn't believe how strong I've hit the ground this spring. Sure, it's expensive, but think how much you've already spent on your bike and gear.

What's a few more hundred dollars? 😉

:eek: :eek: :eek: 274$? Its driving me nuts. I just bought the performance Traveltrac. If I had known before I'd have bought the KK. 🙁

Maybe I can. The performance store ordered it for me. I should be able to return it. I will call them today and find out. Thanks for the info AdamW.

I second the Kinetic...

i also recommend the kurt kinetic. it's my first trainer, but i could not be happier with the resistance, quietness and security that it won't leak all over my apartment floor. like someone else said, what $275 more after you spent how much on your bike?
