  1. I have a floor pump that I've had for abou 15 years and it
all of a sudden stopped working. It worked fine the last
time I used it but now it doesn't work at all. When I try to
use it, there is no resistance and no air comes out. Nothing
appears to be wrong with it but I haven't taken it apart,
yet. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I'd rather not buy a
new one if this one can be fixed.

I'd start by greasing the seal on the plunger.

If you have a leather washer at the end of the plunger,
try rubbing some grease into it. That will give you a
    better seal.

It turns out the leather washer is falling apart. I did
rub some grease on it and it worked for about 20
seconds. Is there someplace where I can buy a new washer
for under $2.00? If so, in what department of the store
    would I find it?

If it's a Medai, Silca or Zefal, any LBS. If other,
    maybe/maybe not.
