Is it my memory going bad, or is this season worse than usual for
early season illness and accidents? The above is CA for waiting until
the injury reports came out and I swapped Boonen and Friere. Figuring
at 23 Boonen will shrug off the bruises enough to be designated last
lead.

The winner if this Ronde might deserve an asterix if things keep going
the way they are.

Why? Paris-Roubaix is pancake flat, and Flanders is hilly. Hincapie can
climb pretty damn well, especially on RvV's power climbs. So if anything
Hincapie is better for Flanders, but NOT as a leader. He enjoys being
out in the wind too much to win...

GH has two 6th and two 4th place finishes at P-R, all before his prime,
which according to his birthday and the calender state is now, and for
the next three years.

Didn't Hammond finish 2nd at Paris-Roubaix LAST YEAR?
Bennie and Hayden didn't start today at 3 DAYS de PANNE. I would take
that as a sign that they are now legs up at the De PANNE hotel, getting
ready for the first 150k. I can't think of a stronger rider than Bennie
in the ENTIRE EURO PELOTON for the first 150k.

Discovery 8 for Sunday. Looks pretty suspect, to me. Why bother?

Leif Hoste, Roger Hammond, Benoit Joachim, and Hayden Roulston

I'm still standing by my earlier prediction of Julich. The 2-7th
places might all be Discovery, though.

Well, Roger Hamoond second instead of third is better than the Eki on
the podium. Still, he did look strong if somewhat random over the last
hour of P-R.

He's got two LBL 2nd places (to Berzin and Richard). I believe
he only had 2 pre-cancer Flanders starts. He much preferred the
Ardenne Blegian classics.
