Fitting mudguards

Anyway I think I have worked out how they fit together but I just wanted
to check, do the the mudguard spoke thingys with he platic connectors
on them go on the front wheel? (I assume this is a safety feature?).
Also do the spokes fit to the inside of the front fork? There doesn't
appear to be much clearance between the wheel and the plastic connector.

You will need 5mm bolts (M5) and I would recommend that you get
stainless ones. Various places will sell you them at a great price.
They are very cheap in bulk, and it is worth having spares kicking
around anyway. Have a look online for e.g www.namrick.co.uk and it is
probably worthwhile stocking your spares box at the same time.

I have found them very helpful.. the only place I could find
countersunk socket head M8 bolts for my trailer hitch (no, not that
one, the Winther one.) I also picked up a load of bolts suitable for
bottle cages, mudguards, miscellaneous uses etc.

I was in the chandlers getting some more rope for my dinghy (new
mainsheet) and noticed the prices on their prepackaged SS bolts. Laugh,
I nearly cried. Ten times the price.

Yes.

It is, it enables the front stays to become detached from the frame in
the case of something getting trapped under the mudguard and causing it
to try to fold up - there have been some nasty accidents due to this.

No, outside. I assume you have suitable braze on points to fix them to?

Thanks for that! I will need to check what sizes I need but I am sure it
will do the trick.
