  1. Road bike removed from trainer and rebuilt where necessary.

Nice bike. Custom Ti, Rolf Vigor RS wheels, DA kit.

Feels like riding a dart. The bike is as if it doesn't exist; there's
just this massless, invisible structure of force underneath you upon
which you can apply infinite leverage.

Using cowhorn style TT handlebars with 15 degree slope - definetely
something I prefer to regular handlebars. The extra forward reach is
    very nice.

Interesting how riding position on the road differs to riding position
    on the trainer.

The frame, seat post, saddle, cranks and pedals are unchanged, so my
position on the bike is *identical* to my position on the trainer.

However, the feel of the ride is very different and interestingly there
was no lower back pain on the right hand side, something I've been
experiencing recently after making some changes to my on-trainer
    position.

Did about 30 miles, I think. Didn't take the computer, so not exactly
    sure.

I made some more progress with my riding position.

I have realised that I have a pelvic *torsion*; the left hip is forward,
    the right hip backwards.

This is the real cause of the position problems, because the lower right
leg is always far too forward. I've spent a great deal of time, to
date, trying to fix the *wrong* issue (and, so, of course, getting
    nowhere fast). However, the torsion issue is more or less insoluable;
it's not possible to compensate by bringing the right cleat well
forward, because after a few days of that it [censored] up the ball of your
foot, and what else can you do?

I'll write a proper post explaning it all soon.

Don't rub it in now I'm off the road !

Not me, my road bike. Knackered wheels bearings and cracked crank. New
Veloce crank + Scirocco wheels 230 quid! Wating for parts. I've still got a
    hybrid.

    Good news.

Can you feel my envy from there?

I'm still training, but all I've ever achieved is finite leverage so far.

I don't believe i've ever seen a trainer that was completely level.

But possibly (probably) at a different angle to the local gravity.

    See gravity comment above.

Did you ever get the cleats set up to suit you?

Would different length cranks help? What about setting the seat pointing
slightly off to the right of the centreline?

I'd be delighted to hear how you are getting on.

Kinda what happened to my bike, being on the trainer. Trainers really
kill bikes - sweat, being liquid, gets in *everywhere* and there's
plenty of salt dissolved into the liquid. My bottom bracket, when it
    came out, was disgusting!

Next trainer bike will have a ton of sheaths and covers on it.
