I don't think I've actually fallen in love yet with a bike. I suppose I haven't met the right one yet.

There are two bikes I think I can give this honor to. The first one is a really heavy duty men's CCM mountain bike. At first it was too heavy for me and I despaired of ever getting it up hills. By the end of the summer I could go up the toughest and steepest of hills in the city I live in without standing up and pedaling. For me, this was a miracle. I have never been in better shape. That bike took me everywhere I wanted to go. I ended up selling it though, when I left my boyfriend at the time and I needed money more that I needed the bike. Its a shame it was a nice bike. My next love was a little different, and in my own way I think I loved this bike even more, in fact I know I did, although it was not the first love.
It was an old Kona and it rode like a dream. It was old and I could only use about three of the gears but it was one of the best rides I have ever had. It would bounce over trails and ride true on pavement, I could go across town on it and bring my groceries home with it. I bought it for only $20, so when someone slashed it's tires and stole the quick release seat, I had to let it go. They don't build bikes like that anymore. -
The first bike my folks got me for my birthday, a metallic blue Mongoose BMX. While I no longer ride BMX bikes, that Mongoose will forever be my first love. I actually feel guilty for selling it to get my first Cannondale bike. I still see some kids riding around in their BMX bikes in my neighborhood and that always brings back fond memories.

My love for riding started years ago as a little child. My neighbors across the street had a bike that everyone would get to ride. They happen to have a hill at the back of their property and so we would take turns going down that steep hill. We would often get scrapes and bruises but overall we had fun and the experience made me always thought of having my own bike and going aroung the neighborhood when I got older.
