And so you should be. Llongyfarchiadau! (Congratulations!) -- I try to be a good example to my children, but they just see me as a dire warning.

How far did you have to carry them then?
hahaha.
What are the criteria for entering the novice class? I mean, I have never taken part in a comp but, apart from the last few weeks, go climbing/bouldering 3 times a week and on a really good day might just be able to strain up a V7. What kind of level is "novice"?

Cheers! British technical grade 4C and below if that makes sense, they don't use the V grades up at the wall for some reason. I actually felt it was too easy but I am at a tricky stage in my climbing now, most harder routes (5C's) are doable but only if I work them over a few sessions and the climbing comp was 10 points for one attempt 7 for two and 4 for three... So me taking three hours sometimes to get one 5c route made the 5C and below category a bit of pointless task. I also hang around with really good climbers and people sort of associate me with them so I felt guilty winning even though it was fair.
I will go in the harder group next time.
