Does for me updated 1.0.0 to 1.0.3 two days ago and updated 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 yesterday using the tools=>options ... path. This posted using OE and yes my O.S. is Win XP I use microsoft when it suits and other software houses when they provided a "better" programme.

Does for me updated 1.0.0 to 1.0.3 two days ago and updated 1.0.3 to 1.0.4 yesterday using the tools=>options ... path.
The point is that it's edit=>preferences=>advanced on linux, and it doesn't have a check for new version anyway. At least, on my linux 1.0.1 version.
Are you usig the RedHat special? They screw with the menus. It does if you dainlode it straight from firefox, I think. I think that because before it was available for Fedora Core whatever I used the stock distro, and I'm pretty sure it had the check in, but now I'm using FC3 it doesn't.
