those frames are beasts and so, so light!
i couldnt believe it when i picked up a mates superprodg.

the cervelo logo on the dropouts are just such a class act and i really appreciate them when im dying on the back wheel of said bike in group rides....

smart buy and may you enjoy for many years to come.

By the way, 3 month new bike update: my C-40 is coming along great guns and i dont think i could ever turn away from a carbon colnago again, but of course, never say never.

Congrats.

That's gonna be your training bike? Why not make the Pug the trainer and
race the Cervelo?

Anyway, noice! Mine's an 853 frame with a Muscle fork. Seems
to work well for me 🙂

aged like cask wine - not to say bad of your frame, just how it will benefit from being caged in a box, unable to feel the wind.

Um.. generally do more kays on training bike. Training bikes
should look nice for all the cafe stops I don't make ;-)
If I'm going to lay a bike down in a corner I'd prefer it to be
the scrappy one. I have a complex where I like beating
people when I'm using cheaper gear. I mostly race crits, so
a thicker-tubed, stiffer alu frame would be better. Oh and I
plan on replacing the Pug with something better anyway! :-D

Um.. generally do more kays on training bike. Training bikes
should look nice for all the cafe stops I don't make ;-)

Since your brain still thinks steel=heavy, now's the time to tell
you that my bike weighs 8.5kg on the road - I don't really know how that
compares to most other newish bikes, but for a bike that was specced as
much for durability as performance I'm very happy with it.

The Bianchi is around 10kg on the road so it's a nice improvement.
Technically I still own the Bianchi but I haven't actually had
possession of it for 3 months or so. I've got a mate who's buying it
from me. That reminds me, I should collect some $$$ for it 🙂

....sigh.. verrrrrrrrrry nice hippy..... i wanna upgrade my old cannon (she is a good old stick tho...) but need (note the *neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed*!!!!) a duallie mtb for my 1st attempt at 24 hr solo next yr.....decisions decisions....

how long are you going to be able to keep looking at before you crack hippy?? I'd have to hide it away in a dark place.....

The Cervelo frame _has_ to be lighter, but I never
weighed the Pug frame alone. Excess bike weight
isn't an issue for me though.. excess body on the
other hand.. ;-)

You should love your frame, what I like about Cervelo is that you get technology and that feeling of "class" that is hard to combine I think. I looooove my team soloist. Mmmm. 🙂 If I just gain another 10 kgs or something, so I get a more aero seallike shape, and can use gravity a bit more, then I will eradicate any speed record around. 🙂

Accorrding to the website there will be Kona's for 'test laps', so maybe your butt can have a reprieve for one lap at least!

Hmm... must remember to take shock pump to steadily decrease the rear shock pressure and improve comfort as each lap goes on! why oh why did we only get three team members?

It's a real shame that I "look light" but I can't get up hills 🙂

The wheels are Campy Centaur hubs on Open Pro rims. I've never weighed
them but I expect the wheels (with cassette) would be somewhere around
1.7Kgs

My Colnago Dream Plus (aluminium frame, carbon fork w/ steel steerer, Chorus bits, open pro rims) weight in at 8.5kg.

Interestingly my touring bike (Columbus Zona steel frame, carbon fork w/ carbon steerer, Chorus bits, open pro rims) weighs 8.8kg. I'd have thought the difference would be bigger than that.

Next on the list (saving pennies for the tubeset & lugs) is a steel Foco frame with Genius stays (I don't like the shape of the Foco stays) to replace the Colnago (which looks like [censored] after 3 years of racing, training, and commuting). That should save about 400g on the Zona frame, so it _may_ come in lighter than my Colnago. Still not in the silly-light category, but no slouch, either. And fingers crossed, it'll be a good deal more durable.

CSC team colours, eh? The evil internet bike shop that DRS has been battling is flogging CSC team helmets (Bell Ghisallo) on special for US$60 plus postage. I got one and when it arrived I worked out why it was cheap. The bozos that put the helmets together in the factory had not fitted the straps properly. 5 minutes later the straps were in their proper alignment. New cheap helmet for me...... Red and white, Team CSC colours, just like the real ones.......would look good with that frame of yours
