I've seen Fetish bicycles listed on eBay for very cheap prices. Is anyone
out there in cyberspace familiar with these frames? My sense is the build
quality is a bit sloppy. I'd appreciate any comments.
Thanks.

A guy I work with just ordered a frame off ebay for 70 bucks. he should get it
in the next week. that is new. that is cheaper than the nashbar fram- e ...
their all carbon wheels have been going on ebay for 500.... I went to their
website and found pictures of chicks on lowriders and no weights or info
listed about the wheels. no thanks.
don't know for sure, but my opinion is this is just a marketing scam.
buy a boatload of cheap frames from china, slap some really cool
goth stickers on to attact the posers.
next step, put 'em on ebay for $99 and claim they're 'worth' so
much more. several months back, those ebay listings had a
link to the fetish bike website, where they claimed the frames
retailed for $500 or so. wow, what a deal!! hmmm, can't find
the site now.
of course, i've never heard of fetish bicycle, never seen one in
a bike shop. there's apparently no history.
anyone know otherwise?
http://www.fetishcycles.com/ still works. I'm told they sell several
thousand Taiwanese frames a year, the ones on eBay are blemished. Most of
the stuff looks like it's from the trigon suppliers.

Thanks. I'm not spending big bucks on junk.
Besides, the eBay seller has minimal feedback and is selling a range of
sizes. These aspects have been highlighted as danger signs.

interesting...that is not the website that the ebay auctions linked to.
that was a single page site, looked as though a 14-yo cooked it up
during everquest breaks.
at the time it seemed very suspicious, as in mid-04, some guy on
ebay has an apparently unlimited supply of '05 overstock.
still, it looks like a decent taiwanese frame, worth the $99 on ebay.
i doubt the $500 value, tho.
They are based in Scottsdale, AZ 480-773-2351 www.fetishcycles.com. I am
sure they could answer most of your questions if you gave them a call.
The website is badly designed, but that doesn't mean the bikes don't work.
Besides, a frame doesn't have to be especially nice or light to more than
live up to a $150 price tag... For a lot of folks out there that want a
first TT bike or a single speed ATB but don't want to spend big bucks,
Fetish might be a good option.
IMO if you want to avoid paying for hype and marketing scams, you should
probably be more concerned about $2000 Italian frames made from Columbus
Altec than Taiwan frames fetching $150.
Just my 2 cents...
