This sort of research report poses more questions than it answers.
Was it a double-blind study? If not, then there are all sorts of
possible explanations eg the group on serevent has worse (more poorly
controlled) asthma in the first place, they were attempting to use the
erevent as an emergency brochodilator etc.
Can we conclude that any one particular group will have more
asthma-related deaths using serevent than not using it? In which case
it surely ceases to be ethical for doctors to prescribe it.

I don't know the details here, but as far as I can make out there is no reason
for anyone to discontinue their use of serevent until there is more real
evidence from the doctors who prescribe this.
One of the problems with Serevent is that no matter how the drug company
repeats over and over again that this is NOT for use in acute asthma attacks,
persons fail to understand this.
Patients MUST fully undersand what they are taking and how to take it.
Obviously if you rely on Serevent to treat an acute attack, you are going to
have trouble.

professional in person for recommendations specific to his or her case.

I have a good reason to discontinue it's use. My pharmacy won't refill it
anymore due to this FDA warning. They said they were going to contact my Dr.
today to get an alternative.
Any idea what the most common substitute is or will be ?

Like vomiting and hot flashes? Yea....I did that by mistake when I was first
put on serevent and got my 2 inhalers mixed up. Not a pretty scene for an
hour or so...

To those who doubted that Teacher was Dave from Lowlife...this proves it....
Dave made such a big deal over his departure and then comes back as

Imagine if a debunker did that? Wait, I know of one who has had several
email addresses (they are posted on a website that Jan likes to repost ad
nauseum).
If Jan is not a hypocrite, she will castigate Dave/Teacher/Lowlife for his
