Favorite tuna sandwich

I used to have a recipe of Tuna Cheddar Spread that made the
most delicious sandwiches but I lost the recipe during the
savage destruction of my divorce. It seems like it consisted
of tuna, chopped onions, relish, mayonaise, salt & pepper
and lots of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

That would be "weird".

I like my tuna salad pure, nothing added but Hellmans, and
only lightly mixed so's there's still lotsa chunks... my
favorite is on a buttered bialy, with a thin slice of
onion... with a glass of frozen vodka and the NYT x-word...
now that's a Sunday breakfast.

I like tuna salad sandwiches with a little bit of curry
powder in the tuna.

I like pickles in mine - no cheese - just miracle whip.

Sheldon said you can't mix FISH and CHEESE? Must be because
Sheldon has never tasted fish and cheese mixed together. It
is quite extraordinary when mixed with relish, mayonaise,
chopped onions and two slices of bread.

That's just one more thing that Sheldon is wrong about. I
can't imagine Coquilles St.Jacques or Cod au Gratin
without cheese.

One of my favorites.

Blend in food processor or blender until completely smooth:
6 oz Baby Spinach
1/4 cup Caesar Salad Dressing

Drain & Flake 2 large cans of Albacore Tuna. Add the spinach
mixture along with the following: 3 tb fresh lemon juice
2/2 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup sliced almonds
4/4 cup dried cranberries
5/4 cup chopped pineapple

Mix well. Serve on a bed of greens, stuffed on half an
avocado or on whole grain bread.

Wouldn't say this was weird, but tuna with only a tiny bit
of mayonnaise spread on a slice of granary-type bread.
Topped with thinly sliced red onion, thin slices of very
ripe avocado and a handful of sprouted
mustard/cress/alfalfa. Finish with another slice of bread.

Definately no pickles of any kind. Finely chopped onion, red
preferably, celery, and red bell pepper. Mayonnaise,
thoroughly chilled.

Not really weird. I make a basic tuna, mayo, celery/onion,
sweet relish tuna salad. But, now that tuna is mostly water
packed and bland in the extreme, it needs a little help. I
add just a dab of mustard (not enough to taste) and some
Wishbone balsamic vinaigrette dressing (just enough to
barely taste). The dressing puts some oil (besides the mayo)
back in the mix and the balsamic vinegar and spices are a
nice touch.

Me, too. Usually I just mix in hamburger relish (or,
pickailli), mayo and pepper to make a spread.

used to make his tuna sandwiches with tuna salad and grape
jelly. Ick.

That's just one more thing that Sheldon is wrong about. I
can't imagine Coquilles St.Jacques or Cod au Gratin
without cheese.

Hey I'm not keen on fish and cheese together either. Nearly
always avoid any fish dish that has cheese in or on it.

However, my French cookbook has three recipes for 'Coquilles
Saint Jacques' and only one of them has any cheese in it.
The book uses 'Coquilles Saint Jacques' as the term for
scallops rather than a specific preparation.

The coquilles are covered in a sauce Mornay, which does
contain Gruyere cheese. No cheese is scattered over the top
before browning.

And they always taste better if someone else makes them....

type, a dash of celery salt, black pepper, a squeeze of
lemon juice and Best Foods Lite (hellman's) mayo, served on
a toasted hot dog bun or toasted whole grain bread.

Alternately, tuna with minced onion and chopped roasted red
peppers or Progresso Pepper Salad, drained of oil.
