For a really fast bike you would have to go higher in price. Here are some good ones to look at:

- RANS Velocity Squared
- Burley Canto or Django
- RANS V-Rex
- Vision R-40 series
- Bacchetta Giro

These are not particularly real speed demons but they are decent speed steeds. I can hold a 19mph pace on a Burley Canto without blowing myself out. But since touring is my thing, I do not really keep up with speed.

Welcome to bentdom. You'll get as many opinions as there are bents. :o) For your price range, I have
a used V-REX for sale. After you do your research, you might find this fits your needs and you'll
get twice as much bang for your buck. It has lots of extras.

Hi Ed, Like you, I began benting with a CT, 5 years ago. I recommend a Bacchetta model for speed. A
dual 26'' wheel model if you're medium to tall height (inseam is what actually matters) or a 26x20

Rocket, R40, V2, and now a Baccheta Corsa. Although the Rans V2 and Corsa are close in speed, I'm
faster on Corsa and it handles superbly. An M5 seat is important also. Corsa is faster than diamond
frames including many hilly courses. You need to do online research and test rides to make a
decision that's good for you. You will have to spend at least $1600 for a decent new fast bent, but

If you want fast you need to try a Catrike Speed.
