  1. A dreadful drive-through KFC has popped up on my commute which belches out a ghastly smell of
sugar-sprayed chips and greasy chicken wings on my ride home from work at 2230.

Last night, I'm not kidding, a queue of over a dozen cars snaked around the block pouring out
poisoned fumes, full of pasty-faced lardys slavering over their next fat and sugar laden heart
attack meal. What a sight :-(

  2. Yuk, I used to commute past Elland Road stadium in Leeds. What with the footy fans not looking where they were walking and driving, the smells from the hot dog & burger carts, the [censored] from the Police horses I don't know what was worse.

Have KFC put in a cycle lane so you can jump the queue?

No? Thoughtless b*st*rds. When will they realise that cyclist have a right to be pasty-faced lardies
    to, when will they...[cont p92]

Having now no great reason to rush home I have been lengthing my commute this week (18.5 miles round
trip now with a PB yesterday of 13.6mph). I stopped to adjust the rear wheel ( Again! Can I get a
bolted spindle to replace the QR that keeps coming loose?) in a quiet country lane and was hit with
the most disgusting smell ever, there was obvioulsy something dead in the ditch/hedgerow nearby. :-(

  7. Simon,

I completely understand. But I think you're email is interesting because it higlights the difference
in mentalty between a cyclist and 'the drones'. We really are worlds apart. As they que for their
fat you're getting fresh air and healthy excerise. But the drones hate us because we're 'goodie
goodie'. Will we ever see eye to eye???

But don't forget to take care of any fire prevention devices they may have installed first.

Most cyclists have drone (as you call them) phases in their week. I ate from the chippie last night
and had a B****r K**g earlier in the week. I can look myself in the eye quite happily while enjoying
    my "fat" and cycling.

OTOH I do dislike sanctimonious gits who think they are superior to everyone.

Anyone who's seen my eat knows that I like junk food sometimes. It doesn't do any harm as long as
you eat the good stuff most of the time and get some exercise.

It's the no exercise and [censored] all the time that's the problem

Must be my amercian childhood I suppose, but I actually have a weakness for KFC. Their twister wraps
are really quite tasty. Clearly I'm not a *real* cyclist. ;-)

It's not my fault! It's the cycling that has made me a "sanctimonious git". Before I started, I was
queueing up at the drive throughs with the rest of the punters. Simon

S'alright, I wasn't thinking of you when I wrote that.

My thoughts were more along the lines of why on earth would someone feeling peckish at half past
ten at night, get into their car, drive several miles, join a queue of over a dozen cars and wait
for who knows how long for fried sugary potato and fried chicken, when they could have made
themselves something at home cheaper and healthier?

Perhaps they like the taste, perhaps they just fancied fried chicken, perhaps there was nothing in
the cupboard at home, perhaps they were on their way home after working late, perhaps...... Have you
never had fish and chips or an Indian or Chinese?

Ugh, the thought of KFC makes you hungry!?!

It takes a lot to put me off my food, but the thought of KFC might just do it.
