  1. Does any one know of online sources with information about famous mountain bike racer's training, like Roland Green, Miguel Martinez, Christophe Sauser, etc...

Dave Harris has a blog here: http://teamhealthfx.com/blogs/dave_harris/

He uses a power meter and WKO+. He's an ultra marathon guy. I don't know if you're more interested in xc racing, marathons, hundies or ultras.

I've been successful using this forum for my mtb training.

I spent a bit of time trainning with Roland and Ryder when they where at their peak. The way they trained was quite surprising considering the nature of their events.

In the winter both them would do a very high volume (35hr+) . A typical ride would be 5hrs at a solid pace (30kph) with the last hour very fast and hard, around the 40kph mark.

Is this typica trainning for a top level mountain biker? Definately not.

  4. That's it, some racer I've never heard of, and some guy who says he trained with Rollie?

What/why exactly do you want to know?

Not a lot out there about famous mountain bikers trainning.

I know and have ridden with most of top Canadian MTBers, they all train quite a bit different. Some do primarily high volume with hard periods mixed in. Others have very structured programs, the focus of these programs differs from rider to rider.

Any details would be helpful. ex. training durations, intensities, periodization, specific workouts, and so fourth.

I research training methods of world class endurance athletes from around the world, and so I am trying to expand my data base.
