2004.

I think the point that you have amply displayed is how seriously you take yourself, lack a sense of humor, and are an irritating prig. Instead of simply resonding to the joke you have to dissect because you dont want to give credit to someone affiliated with Disco.

He not only can do a training ride like Riis or Yates, he can still kick serious but in a world class race.

Yeah, he really showed the Mexican National team who was boss... 0:21 off of the pace is a good ride, not a great ride. The thing about Riis and Yates hanging on the training rides is that unlike Ekimov, they also have full time jobs.

He also never doped like Blarney Riis, Mr 60%.

I'm impressed with Riis' 'management style.' I don't know how many other team owners/managers join their teams on training ride but I suspect most of them sit in a pace car.

As for Mr. hombredesubaru's astute observation about Eki vs. Team CSC... just brilliant! Eki finished behind 6 of 8 Team CSC riders. But he sure kicked the butts of the other two! We'll see how the rest of the race plays out and whether Team CSC are worthy of praise.

I asked because I did look and didn't find anything - maybe I'm not searching very well. Anytime you put "Ekimov" and "doping" into a search engine, I come up with oodles of stuff on doping allegations for Lance with "Ekimov" thrown in there as a teammate. I waded through it all searching for about 1/2 an hour the other day but... 😕

I wasn't trying to get you to do the research for me. I'll keep looking on my own but if you had any hints on where to look, I'd appreciate them.
