Wow, resorting to the tactics of the Bush version of the Republican party....next you'll be calling everyone who questions Landis a commie red who are making the world less safe by their actions. Stop with the simplistic jingoism. It has nothing to do with countries or politics, it has to do with people who love the sport of bicycle racing trying to make their sport better. A lot of Euros were caught up in the Spanish investigation friend. Tyler and Floyd were racers who got caught. Who cares what their nationality is.

I just want folks to start NAMING some of those Euros that get caught. Everytime something new comes out regarding Landis or Lance or many other, there is a group here that starts 20 thread with that info. So, let them put thier money where their mouths are. I agree with you, that doping is doping not matter what country you are from. Not everyone here has those opinions. I just want to see if those that are so quick to point fingers at Lance, Landis and Tyler will point those fingers at their own.

So far, I guess they are hesitant to do so.

This forum isn't for "reporters." Why would you expect "fair and balanced"?

And besides, it isn't like Ullrich has been filling up press coverage with a series of defenses. He is quiet, so no one talks about him. Same with Basso. Who was the Spaniard who just retired immediately without a peep, Mancebo? There is nothing to say about these riders because no further information is coming out.

Let's just hope that the up and comers are learning from all this and are staying clean. Cleaner? Clean enough? Whatever...

It's seems like everytime there's an American that get's busted for doping or suspected of doping, we get 10 or more posts about it. So far, I hadn't seen 1 regarding Dominguez. So I was just trying to press folks, are they anti-doping or anti-american. I wasn't convinced that other folks were really anti-doping....

Umm, there is a slight difference between a guy riding for a continental team during the Eneco Tour and Landis, Armstrong, Hamilton, huge talents riding for ProTour teams, contending (and winning) the TdF.

As for Dominguez, sure, more doping. Just proof that the top names do it and the not so top names do it. They ALL do it.

I dunno. To me it's like being a little pregnant. They are all equally guilty, right? If folks want to beat the drum of anti-doping, isn't this just more evidence that they all do it and should they let us know yet another one bites the dust?

Agreed. Everyone needs to make a huge deal about every rider that dopes. Depending on the status of the rider caught, it deeply affects how much media time is spent on the rider. If every rider is plastered in the media about it, I would like to think other riders would contemplate avoiding the syringe.

I have to say the riders themselves add to the media circus... by going "out there" with a list of excuses as long as John Holmes’s member creates the media frenzy... if like Gatlin athletes admit to the their drug use and take the ban then the story is printed and then its over no more circus.... fair and balanced reporting ? If the athlete goes to the media with 7 different statements that it was dehydration, it was beer, it was a massage cream, it was faulty handling, its a conspiracy against Americans then they are only asking for the media to whip up the storm and report the ridiculous comments they are stating. Perhaps Landis should make fair and balanced statements if he wants to be reported in the correct light.

On the other hand it has to be noticed that there are some compatriots of yours in this forum who continuously "confuse" american ethics or character with doping. It is very irritating to read that bad Europeans dope and the good old american boys don't and either lose because of it or they win despite of it. There are quite a few people in this forum whose dogma is "he is american ergo he is ethically/morally superior and honest ergo he is clean" (or "she" for that matter). On that basis when an american is caught this automatically reflects badly on his ethnicity and the national character and every attempt to argue that he/she might not be clean inadvertedly leads to a discussion about american ethics. But is at least as much a fault of americans in this forum as it is of the people that you call anti-american. There are people in this forum who have been and continue to be abusive towards anyone who says that american athletes might be doping (like most), who only post in relevant threads and have never shown any interest in cycling as a sport, who haven't been banned as they should have and on top of that they complain that the moderation is biased. :eek:

LOL. In order to have a biased moderator, you first need a moderator. This forum doesn't have one. It has a group of regular contributors, all with their own particular biases, including one with the unilateral power to censor the others. The only question is, why does he maintain an avatar of a fat guy simulating a blowjob?

The media only reports the news. I generally detest TV news, but for the Americans, try flipping through the channels and watching the news, not the pundits, just the news portion of their broadcast. Watch Fox, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, CNN and you see that they almost always lead with the same story and report it in the same way. It's true for the internet was well.

Yeah, the Holloway story was [censored], but MJ? Come on! I was all over that. It had everything -- car top dances, the king of pop in his jamies, crazy hair days, people holding up signs proclaiming that Lance didn't dope... sorry, i got off track.

I loved the Michael Jackson trial. IMHO, it was just a little better than the OJ trial.
