I had a Euro style breakfast before going off to play polo and I swear
to Enzo, your face was in my Panettone. It was fried in a little egg
and milk laced with Amaretto. Really, your profile, with the helmet
and buggy goggles, was toasted right into where the batter got a
little burnt around the edges. It floored me! I almost wanted to put
it on E-bay but I was hungry and didn't have time for them to prepare
another.

I took it as a sign from above that my training supplements were
working. Sure enough, it was a great day on the bike - all day

Sorry Fab, but if it had been Lance's face in my toast, I thnik I'd
have gotten it to go.

As bad as Kerry came off on television, Bush showed his intellect on
television after his physical. Something like "Too many donuts", pauses,
waits for laughter, then says "If you get my drift.", duh. He kept
talking
after that and it went downhill until he learned to shut up. He is
definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Bush was out mountain bike riding this morning I saw on the news.
Funny how people like you criticize and underestimate Bush, but he
pulled off
two terms.
I'm nit his biggest fan, but he's there for 4 more years.

He does come off looking bad on camera, and the television station
ran a radio address speech he gave along with a picture of him
looking like a cross-eyed hick, at best. If he rode a mountain
bike the way I do, we would have Cheney for president, so I
guess we will have to live with it/him. Never underestimate
a spoiled rich kid with connections in the CIA. I suspect a lot
of decisions 'he' makes are those of his advisors and not his own.
I don't want to be hearing Iraq on the nightly news for the next
4 years. We need to clean up our own back yard.
Speaking of him riding a mountain bike, does he ever work up a
sweat or are these just photo ops for him?

He sweats, he crashes. He was one of those running junky types til the knees
went, typical for the type. Now he's on a MTB.

With all of the attention going to the leaders, the rest must have strong
opinions of themselves to keep going. Especially the ones always bringing up
the rear. I would like to read something on the smaller teams, how they manage
to keep going, getting and keeping sponsors, etc. The thing that surprises me
is why USPS gets out when their guy, LA, is leading the show. The advertising
value of the team must be at their peak now.

Don't get me started. USPS wasted millions on that team. Oh, they got a great
team, just none of the promotional advantage that's supposed to be the reason
for a sponsorship deal. Why would a company sponsor a team on a continent where
it has NO retail offices?

If this were a private corporation the shareholders would be storming the
boardroom. The team existed to justify expensive paid vacations for the upper
management and nothing more. Just one expensive ego stroke.

You may make that ride but it won't be along the beach. A few things like the
Long Beach Harbor, 4 or more huge marinas, the mouth of the San Gabrial River,
at least 2 major creeks, LAX, and on and on. The November Outside Magazine
talked about a South Bay beach ride. I'm not familiar with this but will check
into it. Years ago you could ride from Playa del Rey to Venice but they took
out the Balona creek bridge and stuck a huge Marina del Rey plus hotels and
other developments there.

I'm using aol and have no problem whatsoever with threading, snipping,
posting..etc., etc.. and I'm nearly as old as Maggie ;-)

I agree Mike in fact, IMO they're both quite boring along with most other
sports with occasional moments of spectactular examples of human effort and
endurance.

He actually works up a sweat? That is hard to get a mental picture of.
I would love to see the look on his face doing a hard downhill with
actual physical obstacles that he can't cheat his way around. Biking
is, for me, long energy burn rides mixed with some fun, some times
scary, downhills. What is Bush's style, if I can say style?

I haven't been there for something like 20 years, when I did some business
with a company at the marina, and it was crowded then. I already got
off track with the Queen Mary and what not along the way, but I would have
thought you could still make about 50% of the ride along varoius beaches.
