"Without no reason"? Do we need to have the double negative discussion
again? Disproving your own argument, is no way to handle a debate.

are you like critisizing his english? like, man, that's not no good.

See the above. There is no need to practice "censorship".

pssh, killfiling someone isn't practicing censorship - that's slanted
    logic at it's worst.

Let's look at a scenario: the newspaper that comes to your door
every morning decides to print lots of ads from Nazi groups and
racist organizations from now on. However, they give the reader
an option to have a version without these ads if you choose, at no
    extra cost or hassle.

Now, those that choose the ad-free version wouldn't be practicing
censorship, they would be practicing "convenience" and "choice" as
to what THEY want to read. If they wanted to practice censorship,
then they would head on down to the newspaper head office and
demand that everyone else's paper have the ads removed as well.

    cheers,

I have only ONE person in ngs who brags about having put
me on his killfile (I am flamed by hundreds over the
years, and getting fewer and fewer by the year) and that
person (Lee Bell is his name) just couldn't resist putting
a dig in (even when he had me killfiled) when he read
quotes from OTHERS (out of context of what I posted of
course), and consistently make a fool of himself that way.

You can killfile any poster, but you cannot killfile what
OTHERS post (and cited) of what was said by that poster.

That's fine. I'd much rather read what legit posters have to say.

Ah, but that's censorship of the worst kind, just like Lee Bell.

You read what OTHER's said about whom you killfiled, but not
what was said by THAT person. Sometimes I would post 100 lines
of well-reasoned post about some topic. Someone might nitpick
two lines of it. Lee would jump on the same two lines, not
realizing that was completely out of context and wasn't what
    my post was all about!

There are many example of this in the rec.scuba newsgroup,
about Lee's xecond-hand reading of my posts and shot his
own foot in his follow-up to the poster.

Besides, most of the trustworthy members of this newsgroup don't read

    and

    Quoted message said:

    reply to trolls' posts either.

Non sequitur. What you call "trustworthy" in one respect,
may be completely untrustworthy in terms of their posts on
    whom you killfiled.

Let the trolls waste their own time.

    Phil M.

There's a thin line between what a troll and what's non-
    troll.

Not by my definition. Maybe I should not be using the term "troll."

Ahem. Read my line again. :-) I've been called a "troll"
many times when I was making dead-serious posts and wasn't
    trolling at all.

But the term "troll" has been used too loosely in ngs, and has
become so ill-defined that nobody can really say what a "troll"
is, though a quick advanced google search with only the
SUBJECT "troll" produced 777,000 hits in less than 1 second.

I read some of them too. :-) But I don't NEED to killfile
any post that has the subject "troll" nor any poster who has
    been labeled a "troll" ...

    Quoted message said:

    All I
know is that in my killfile are people who's posting history to
rec.running has made me not want to waste my time reading their

    nonsense.

    Quoted message said:

It's that simple. It's my killfile, my time. YMMV

    Phil M.

That's certainly your right and privilege. All I said was that
it is my opinion that there is no NEED to killfile anyone, and
I have given reasons why. apart from my opinion that it's a form
of censorship which I don't practice.

Thanks for the discussion and interesting folks I met in this
ng the past couple of days.

I am leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow. I am already looking
forward to the 16 hr non-stop flight from Newark, in a fully
    reclinable Business-First seat, with a 10-page menu ...
I wonder if "Dear Friend" Ramone Cila will drop in and say
I am lying about this. :-))

May or may not have time or oonvenient access to drop in here
    for a visit.

    Merry Christmas to all.
Adios, aloha, aufwiedersehen, au revoir ... and shalom.

    DF (Dear FabulustRunner),

I am sorry to disappoint you that the flight not only did not
crash, but was the smoothest 16-hr non-stop flight I've had
for awhile. The 10-page menu was down to 8 this time, but
the food was just as good.

You should go see the movie Santa Claus that was shown on the
flight, featuring a drunken Santa and a black midget. I
thought either of them could have been you, except they
used S-words, F-words, and MF-words better and more frequently
than anybody in rec.running, including MF (My Friend) DF,
    you. :-)

The view of the Fragrant Harbour is great, from my room on
the 61st floor of the Conrad International. Too bad you
    can't run your way here.
Santa sends his MF DF greetings to you,

You should change your sig. :-)

In certain ngs and LISTSERV lists, the acronym DF has taken up
the unmistakable meaning of "Dumb [censored]".

WHY DID YOU TELL HIM? This has been the source of private jokes for

For months? Your internet existence is less than two months!

Now i DO dislike you scumbucket! <G>

It's okay, DF (Dear FabulustRunner). I don't take it personally,
and you can't even work your way into my empty killfile. <BWG>

Runners, with the exception of myself, are generally stupid. It took them this
long to figure it out. And if you didn't hang out in those "14years and
younger" chat rooms, you wouldn't know what DF means.

You got that wrong, Dear FabulustRunner.

The ones I know are extremely intelligent.

The ones in this ng seem to be, with the exception of you and your
    latino pal Ramone Cila.

    Quoted message said:

And if you didn't hang out in those "14years and

THAT explained it about you and Ramone. You both graduated from
those chatrooms for 14-yrs-and-younger DFs at about the same time.
DF Ramone began his internet when Fall class started around
    September.

DF FabulustRunner is not as bright. You didn't figure out how to
post in ngs until November. But certainly have been busy with
your new-found toy -- posting 24/7 in in over 1,000 threads
    since.

Both of you are known (by adults who have been around USENET ngs
for years) as Clueless Newbies <tm>, or CN for short. :-)

Don't worry, you'll never succeed in working your way into my
empty killfile. CNs like yourself have the modus operandi of
posting lots of 1-or-2 liners of drivil. By reading some of
those, I can actually grade your CN and OC-behavior in comparison
with other DFs and CNs I don't killfile either.

You're WAY UP there in the OC-DF-CN curve. :-)

Sorry I am getting tired of OC (oh, that's Obsessive-Compulsive
behavior of course -- well-known in ngs) newbies like yourself.
You'll have to learn your way around ngs yourself.

Do more RUNNING with your feet, and less with your mouth. :-)
    Ciao.

Go ahead. Tell me WHY you changed your posting name, and what
YEAR you started posting in USENET ngs, so we'll all know how
