years, and getting fewer and fewer by the year) and that
person (Lee Bell is his name) just couldn't resist putting
a dig in (even when he had me killfiled) when he read
quotes from OTHERS (out of context of what I posted of
course), and consistently make a fool of himself that way.
You can killfile any poster, but you cannot killfile what
OTHERS post (and cited) of what was said by that poster.
That's fine. I'd much rather read what legit posters have to say.
Ah, but that's censorship of the worst kind, just like Lee Bell.
You read what OTHER's said about whom you killfiled, but not
what was said by THAT person. Sometimes I would post 100 lines
of well-reasoned post about some topic. Someone might nitpick
two lines of it. Lee would jump on the same two lines, not
realizing that was completely out of context and wasn't what
my post was all about!
There are many example of this in the rec.scuba newsgroup,
about Lee's xecond-hand reading of my posts and shot his
own foot in his follow-up to the poster.

Non sequitur. What you call "trustworthy" in one respect,
may be completely untrustworthy in terms of their posts on
whom you killfiled.

There's a thin line between what a troll and what's non-
troll.
Not by my definition. Maybe I should not be using the term "troll."
Ahem. Read my line again. :-) I've been called a "troll"
many times when I was making dead-serious posts and wasn't
trolling at all.
But the term "troll" has been used too loosely in ngs, and has
become so ill-defined that nobody can really say what a "troll"
is, though a quick advanced google search with only the
SUBJECT "troll" produced 777,000 hits in less than 1 second.
I read some of them too. :-) But I don't NEED to killfile
any post that has the subject "troll" nor any poster who has
been labeled a "troll" ...

That's certainly your right and privilege. All I said was that
it is my opinion that there is no NEED to killfile anyone, and
I have given reasons why. apart from my opinion that it's a form
of censorship which I don't practice.
Thanks for the discussion and interesting folks I met in this
ng the past couple of days.
I am leaving for Hong Kong tomorrow. I am already looking
forward to the 16 hr non-stop flight from Newark, in a fully
reclinable Business-First seat, with a 10-page menu ...
I wonder if "Dear Friend" Ramone Cila will drop in and say
I am lying about this. :-))
May or may not have time or oonvenient access to drop in here
for a visit.
Merry Christmas to all.
Adios, aloha, aufwiedersehen, au revoir ... and shalom.
